Our Mission The mission of Guiding Lights is to be the comprehensive caregiver support center for family and professional caregiving in the Triangle. Our Vision To assist family and professional caregivers to obtain relevant, timely, and comprehensive information from the premiere caregiving organization in the Triangle.

Chef Reveal Party

Believe it or not, it is that time of year again!  We are busy planning our 4th Annual Share To Care Event.  We are having a Chef Reveal Party September 17th at 3:30pm at Carillon of North Raleigh.  We hope you can attend!  We will be revealing the participating chef communities and the theme for the 2014 Share To Care Event.  Keep up to date by visiting our event website regularly:  Share To Care Event Website.

New Program: Online Dementia Training by Guiding Lights!


“Do You Know Who I Am?

“Do You Know Who I Am?” Online Training is an Alzheimer’s Disease training program for professional and family caregivers. It is a participatory, interactive, innovative approach to learning how to work with individuals with dementia, especially Alzheimer’s.

Interactive training prepares participants to be able to:

  • Understand the dementia disease process
  • Identify and experience common dementia behaviors
  • Apply effective communication and approach techniques
  • Implement failure-free ADL techniques

Upon completion of this training, participants will have gained the necessary tools to create a successful day for themselves and for the special people for whom they provide care.

Nurse Aid 1 Program Set To Begin. Scholarships Available!

Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center www.gudinglightsnc.org is about to launch its NA1 training program. The course is set to start on October 29th.

The course will run for 7 weeks and will meet: M, W, Th for 6 weeks from 8am-4pm and during the 7th week from 7am-3pm Monday-Friday. No day can be missed.

We have a limited number of scholarships available to qualifying City of Raleigh residents (with low to moderate income) which will cover the entire cost of the course except for uniforms and shoes.
